2 Peter 3:18
I thought it was fitting that a verse of 2 Peter was used in one of the last weeks of the Advent devotion. Just as we opened talking about waiting and preparing for Advent and the birth of Christ, 2 Peter 3 is talking about waiting for the Lord to return. He notes that the Lord isn't being slow about his return, He is giving more time for everyone to repent. So as we are waiting for His return, we should be doing our preparation. We should be growing in our knowledge of our Lord. I normally start out each new year with an eagerness for growth. I start out the year with my plan to read through the bible in the year and around 6 or 7 months (on a good year maybe the 8th month) I find myself behind. I'm praying this year that in my waiting period that I will take advantage of the time to grow in special favor and knowledge of our Lord.
