Waiting is not a bad thing. Look for the signs of all that is good about this season in your surroundings. Don't pay any attention to the drivers that cut you off on the interstate on their way to the sales at the mall. (Hey, be thankful that that driver did not hit you! You are safe.) Notice the decorations on the light poles along the byways. Head to Hoover City Hall to see the progress on the community Christmas Tree! Wait a minute! Is that a cardinal in that pine tree in my back yard? Take a breath and look for the joy.
ReplyDeleteI like the 4th line of the prayer - Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord.. Have you ever been deep in the woods and felt the majesty of the big old trees? It's like they have this peaceful calm, like they know something we don't, it's like they represent the steadfastness of God.
ReplyDeleteI felt the picture was so peaceful and showed God's beauty. The sprinkling of the snow on the trees so subtle yet so beautiful. The mountain that is strong and hard but somehow seems soft with the snow and clouds. The water with no ripples. It was a beautiful picture of stillness where waiting seems beautiful and not anxious. The passage talked about the sense of wonder and excitement in waiting for the coming of Christ. I started thinking about waiting in general and how I have difficulty waiting and in turn have difficulty turning all things over to God. The picture reminded me that if I truly turned things over to God in my daily life, I would have much more peace just like in the picture.
