Day 23 - Trusting the Painter

Good Morning and welcome to Day 23 of our reflections on Thomas Kinkade’s book, "Christ the Light of the World". Our topic, which can be found on page 93, is Trusting the Painter.

Our Bible Verse is:

For it is the God who commanded the light to shine out of the darkness who has shone in our hearts to give the light of knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:6

What is the author saying to YOU today?  Who do you trust?

  1. Think of light-filled phrases in Christmas Carols:
"...Son of God, loves pure light.
Radiant Beams from Thy holy face,
with the dawn of redeeming grace"...
"...Oh holy night, the Stars are brightly shining!"...
"...The stars in the sky looked down where he lay."...
Yes, God gave us the "Light of the world!", didn't He?

  2. I was reminded of the old movie "Oh God" where George Burns plays a very approachable, grandfatherly God. A child asks him why there is evil in the world, and he answers "I just couldn't figure out a way to have good without evil, or light without darkness... Maybe you can help me, but every time I think about it, it seems you can't have one without the other!"
